DMT: The Spirit Molecule (recently made into a movie of the same title) compiles the psychological research of Dr. Rick Strassman at the University of New Mexico in the early 1990's on DMT (dimethyltryptamine), a highly psychedelic chemical known to exist inside the human brain. Granted permission by the U.S. government to run intravenous tests on subjects who had experienced psychedelics in their past, Strassman's findings are astonishing. The latter part of the book chronicles his patient's stories and accounts of their experiences on the drug. Now know as The Spirit Molecule, DMT is revered by some as a God-given agent for humans to experience the deepest sense of who they truly are.
